ARCHITECTURE |
---|
The borough has a by-law on the architectural integration of buildings; that is to say, the manner in which new construction is integrated into an existing street. | |||||||||||||
|

It is very common however, for developers to try to optimize the worth of new projects by building the maximum number of units possible with little consideration for how it fits in with its surroundings. |

MY ACHIEVEMENTS |
• | I undertook an analysis of all requests for architectural integration of new construction in the Saint-Henri, Petite-Bourgogne, Pointe-Saint-Charles districts. |
• | I imposed additional requirements on major construction projects, and ensured that the existing criteria as stipulated in the architectural integration regulations are rigorously applied (as in the example of the very controversial project at 230 Dominion). |
• | I worked on modifications to the existing urban planning regulations for a better integration of new buildings. |
• | Example of integration : 150 rue Saint-Augustin |

Amendment to the Urban Planning By-law |
---|
Together with my colleague Anne-Marie Sigouin, I worked to amend the urban planning by-laws of le Sud-Ouest borough. |
OUR GOALS: |
• | Improve the architectural integration of buildings in order to reduce their scale and their impact on the rise in property values. |
• | Reduce compaction of the ground due to construction projects so as to increase the capacity of rainwater to penetrate directly into the ground. |
